Our Mission

Walk closely with Jesus, today and for life.

GateCity Buckhead is a church in Buckhead, Atlanta, that exists to help you walk more closely with Jesus today, and to keep walking closely with Him for the rest of your life, through every season and into every part of it.

Our Vision Map

5 · 4 · 3 · 2 · 1

Following Jesus is not meant to be vague. Our vision map, 5-4-3-2-1, gives every person at GateCity Buckhead a clear path for growing as a disciple: five behaviors to practice, four spaces to live in, three promises to hold onto, two things that make us distinct, and one purpose that ties it all together.

Five Behaviors

What we practice together.

PrayWe connect with God and each other through our virtual prayer teams, morning, midday, and evening. See the prayer schedule.
ServeSpiritual growth happens shoulder to shoulder. We will walk you through our serving areas on a Sunday morning so you can find your fit. Find your place to serve.
GivePartnering financially in what God is doing in Buckhead and among the nations. Opening our hands opens our hearts. Ways to give.
FormGrowing in faith through small groups on Wednesday nights and the Digital Discipleship Cohort, where a few committed believers journey together in prayer, formation, and Bible study. Get connected.
ReachLiving outwardly through digital outreach, life-on-life meetings, and inviting others to meet Jesus.

Four Core Values

The spaces where a whole life is formed.

The AltarLove for God. Corporate and personal prayer to encounter God.
The TableLove for one another. Spiritual formation through life in community.
The RoadLove for the world. Living on mission together, from neighborhoods to the nations (Matthew 28:18–20).
The Way of LoveThe posture of it all. The most excellent way (1 Corinthians 13), rooted in the Greatest Commandment (Matthew 22:37–40), the New Commandment (John 13:34), and the Second Commandment (Mark 12:31).

Three Promises

What God will do in your life.

As you take part in our community, this is what we believe God will do: help you be healthy today, live a life of purpose, and have impact for eternity.

Healthy todayJesus has given us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3) and promises abundant life (John 10:10): freedom from what holds you back, and wholeness in body, mind, and spirit.
A life of purposeYour gifts and calling are meant to serve others and fulfill the purpose God has for you.
Impact for eternityA legacy that outlasts this life, and the joy of hearing “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).

Two Distinctives

What makes us who we are.

Night and day worship and prayerVirtual prayer meets at different times through the week to intercede for our city. Throughout the year we also gather for special seasons of prayer, like our Prayer Sundays and our annual Pentecost ATL, bringing pastors and marketplace leaders together to pray. We offer prayer as a gift to our city.
Reaching the unreachedWe focus on people and places around the world where the gospel has not yet been shared.

One Purpose

Christ-formed lives on mission.

“I labor until Christ is formed in you” (Galatians 4:19). Everything above serves one purpose: to live Christ-formed lives on mission. Wherever you are on that road, there is a next step for you here.
